When I look at old buildings I always seem to start at the windows, which to m are so much like the eyes and soul of a place. peeking through to see the history and the contents within. So often I find unique treasures that I can photograph and share with others.
More often than not I find windows like this shattered and broken. With no hope of being returned to it's former glory. It's a sad reality but also an opportunity to explore the shape and design of each window in these abandoned spaces.
I hope you enjoy these forgotten windows to the past.

Watching a city disappear
These shots are from a small town called Rock Falls, IL . I have a cottage out there and spend alot of time shooting barns and abandoned buildings. I watched them take this building down over a 5 year period shooting images every month. Well it's officially gone :-( I came out this month and its a vacant lot. pictures to follow this week. I hope something good goes there.

Obsessed with Old Barns
As you can probably tell from my older posts I love abandoned buildings. But nothing is more exciting to me than old barns. I love the hunt to find these old places and I love to go in them and explore. I have found so many unique things from old cars, to old tools, to wild animals!
Barns are a way of life here in the Midwest, and sadly many of them have gone to the wayside. My hope is to share their beauty and perhaps get others out there to see these majestic buildings.
